“My son was a trained police officer, he was on a three week leave, he had remained with one week to report back to his job in Ruaraka where he has been on a six month vigorous training to join the dreaded Recce squad, he has innocently been murdered,” said the father.

The family of a General Service Unit (GSU) officer killed by police officers in Bungoma town have come out and defended their slain son claiming he was not a criminal and was innocently murdered.
They said that it was a set up by their enemies to paralyze them through an extra judicial killing.

The slain officer’s father Felix Nganga says that his son was invited by one of his close friends for a drinking spree but when the police officers arrived at a drinking den, the friend fled leaving his son to be gunned down.
“My son was a trained police officer, he was on a three week leave, he had remained with one week to report back to his job in Ruaraka where he has been on a six month vigorous training to join the dreaded Recce squad, he has innocently been murdered,” said the father.
He stated that it was an extra judicial killing which will be investigated to the bitter end.
“They planted the pistol on my son, he wasn’t armed at all, this was a pure set up by our enemies who used the CID and other police officers to kill him despite the fact that he had surrendered,” said Nganga.
The father pointed out that his son was a law abiding citizen and has never been involved in any criminal activities since his childhood.
The slain officer’s mother Winrose Masinde noted that her son has never been a criminal since his childhood and added that she was learning of a set up by his closest friend who is also their relative.
“Victor was set up and killed in an extra judicial killing, we will hire the lawyer and institute a case in court to ensure that justice is realized,” she said.
A relative who is also the Sang’alo East ward MCA Everton Nganga said that they were not satisfied with the reason given by the police.
“We need justice on this, investigations will be carried out to the bitter end, we won’t allow a few police officers to kill their colleague and go scot free, they need to arrested and arraigned in court,” said the ward leader.
The family resides in Ndengelwa village, West Samg’alo Ward, Kanduyi constituency in Bungoma county.

Victor (26) was fallen by police bullets on Tuesday evening after he was suspected of stealing Sh30,000 from an Asian family residing in Bungoma town and petrol bombing their vehicle using  an improvised explosive device (IED) on Monday evening.
Bungoma county police commander Dr.Mutungi Musyoki said that the slain officer was on a wanted list among criminals terrorising residents of Bungoma town and its environs.
“We can’t negotiate with criminals causing sleepless nights to the peace loving Kenyans, a criminal us a criminal and his or her medicine is the bullet,” said Musyoki.
