A former Ford Kenya nominated Mp between 2013-17 Mzee Patrick Wangamati has advised the party leader Moses Wetang’ula to strengthen it or  else the party is losing its popularity.
Wangamati senior is the father to current Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati who was also elected in Ford Kenya in 2017 after defeating Ken Lusaka of Jubilee party.
Speaking during an interview on a local radio station, Wangamati senior stated that FK was losing its grip in its home turf of Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties due to the infighting.
“We managed to get only three electable parliamentary seats in 2017, Jubilee garnered four, this means we need a serious strategy to take more seats in 2022 or else we are losing it out,” he said.

He faulted Wetang’ula for ruling the party with an iron fist and failing to consult elders as part of the strategy to revive the party.
“Wetang’ula has not consulted myself and other elders so that we can come up with an elaborate plan to revive the party, with the ongoing trend we are losing it out to other parties which will eventually outshine us,” said Wangamati.
Off late Wetang’ula has been on the forefront criticising Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati for failing to tame corruption which is rife in his government.
This has created rifts between party diehards and those who are attacking Wetang’ula for playing his oversight role.
“Wetang’ula should call for a serious meeting to address the issues affecting the party and its membership, he should not be the first one to attack the governor who was elected on his party, it clearly indicates that things are falling a part,” said the former Mp.
He asked Ford Kenya party leadership and its membership to put their house in order so as to clinch more electable seats in 2022.
Wetang’ula has criticized Wangamati for purchasing 600, 20 litre Jericans at Sh10,000 which received a huge support from the public as he is seen as fighting graft in Bungoma county.

Wangamati has however denied of such sentiments and added that the Jericans were a donation from Well Wishers.
The containers were meant for fighting Covid-19 which is a global pandemic hitting the world.
