Bungoma senator Moses Wetang’ula has asked Central Organization of Trade Union secretary general Francis Atwoli to stop confusing the Luhya community.

Speaking during an interview on Radio Maisha on Monday June 15, Wetang’ula observed that Atwoli has no authority or audacity to choose spokespersons for the Luhya people.

“Atwoli is a failure, he has failed to cushion Kenyans workers whosr salary is deducted to enrich him, majority workers especially in flower farms and industries are suffering, what has he done to help them, let him stick to his mandate and leave politics to politicians,” said the embattled Ford Kenya party boss.

The legislator asked Cotu boss to stick to his job and stop pretending to be speaking on behalf of the Luhya community.

Wetang’ula said that it was a sham exercise for him (Atwoli) to purport to appoint Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa and Council of governors Chairman Wycliffe Oparanya as Luhya spokespersons.

“Atwoli has no authority to choose any politician as the Mulembe people spokesperson, he is a failure himself, let him stop chest thumping because no body appointed him as out patron,” said the seemingly agitated Wetang’ula.

He said that by Atwoli inviting a few leaders to his Kajiado home and allegedly appointing the two of them spokespersons was egocentric and lacks genuiness in an effort towards the Luhya unity.

“I and my ANC counterpart Musalia Mudavadi were never invited by Atwoli, this means he had a hidden agenda and self interests towards leaders he could easily manipulate, we are not part of the dubious meetings,” he said.

Wetang’ula stated that the Luhya unity will only be realized once all leaders from Mulembe nation come tigetger and speak in one voice unlike now when there is pull and push amongst them.

Wetang’ula also said that his journey to state house is unstopable and asked Kenyans of good will to support his 2022 presidential bid.

He also denied having endorsed the deputy president William Ruto adding that they are all presidential materials and there is no way he could support his rival.

“You have seen me criss crossing the country from Mombasa to Turkana, Kuria to Embu and Garissa to Busia, why shoild i be wasting resources and energies if am supporting Ruto?, that is propaganda being peddled by people with ill intentions,” posed Wetang’ula
