It is an achievement for the Bungoma county government after discharging 12 out of 13 Coronavirus positive patients who turned negative.

Taking to his Facebook page, the county health and sanitation CEC Dr.Antony Walela stated that the 12 people have been discharged from Webuye Sub County y isolation centre.
“A big thank you to all Healthcare workers in Bungoma county for a job well done during this Pandemic. Health facility exit interviews show improved positive remarks,” he said.

He added, “Out of the 13 Covid-19 positive cases admitted at Webuye isolation centre, 12 have been discharged. A very high percentage, well above national and International mean,”. 
All the 13 Covid-19 positive cases at Webuye isolation centre were from truck drivers plying the Northern corridor road from Mombasa to Malaba border.
Walela observed that through adhering to the Government directives of putting on face masks, observing social distance and avoiding crowded place, it led to the low rate of contracting the disease.

Despite the surging number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country, the cases in Bungoma have been very low with non of the local resident contracting it.
The county government has been involved in sensitizing residents, providing food to vulnerable people and distributing sanitary items to vulnerable people.
The dusk to dawn curfew as also helped and Instilled discipline among Bungoma residents hence leading to low contracting level.
