Bungoma County First Lady Caroline Wesonga Wangamati is set to launch EMPOWER Cancer clinic on Tuesday September 22.
The Cancer clinic has been made a success through the County First Ladies Association in partnership with Roche, Women 4 Cancer and Africa Cancer Foundation.
A first of its kind in Western region and the 3rd in the country after Kisumu and Meru.
“This clinic will aid in the detection and treatment for patients suffering from breast and cervical cancer,” read a statement.
She is expected to host 8 First Ladies from (Nandi, Trans-Nzoia, Marsabit, Nyandarua, Busia, Baringo, Bomet and Kajiado) in an event that will be held at Bungoma County Referral hospital from 9am.
In store from the launch is a well equipped clinic set aside for cancer detection, management and treatment at the BCRH.
The Empower cancer clinic will ease the cost of treatment for patients living with cancer in the County.
